Deepen the Heart: A Valentine’s Weekend Getaway in the Texas Hill Country

Sep 6
6 min read

There’s something about February that makes us think about love.

The flowers. The chocolate. The dinner reservations. The cards with tiny hearts on them.

But if we’re being honest, we think love deserves a little more than one day—and a lot more than a box of chocolates.

What if this year, Valentine’s Day was an invitation to slow down?

To spend a long weekend somewhere beautiful. To laugh until your cheeks hurt. To practice yoga in a room filled with morning light. To sit around a table with good food and even better people. To soak under the stars. To take a deep breath and remember what it feels like to actually have nowhere else you need to be.

That’s the idea behind Deepen the Heart Yoga Retreat, our February 2027 GetAway Yogis retreat at the magical Retreat Ranch in Marble Falls, Texas.

And honestly? We are already so excited about this one.

A Retreat All About Love

When we started dreaming up this retreat, we kept coming back to one idea:

What if we made space for all the different ways we experience love?

The love we have for our partners. Our friendships. Our families. Our communities.

And maybe most importantly, the relationship we have with ourselves.

So much of our everyday lives are spent giving. Giving our time. Our energy. Our attention. Taking care of everyone else. Checking things off the list. Moving from one thing to the next.

Sometimes we need a little reminder that we are allowed to receive, too.

That’s where the energy of the Heart Chakra comes in.

This retreat will explore the heart as a place of connection, compassion, balance, and openness. Through yoga, meditation, breathwork, specialty workshops, conversation, and plenty of time to simply be, we’ll create space to explore what it means to open the heart without forgetting to take care of the person living inside it.

And don't worry—we're not planning four days of sitting around talking about our feelings.

There will be plenty of laughter, delicious food, wine, cold plunges, hot tubs, animal friends, and probably at least a little bit of dancing.

Because healing can be fun, too.

Come With Your Person—or Come as Your Own Person

One of our favorite things about this retreat is that you don't have to have a Valentine to come along.

Bring your partner.

Bring your best friend.

Bring your favorite group of girlfriends and make it the ultimate Galentine’s weekend.

Bring your mom, your sister, your daughter, or someone you've been meaning to spend more time with.

Or—and hear us out on this one—come completely by yourself.

There is something pretty powerful about taking yourself on a getaway.

No coordinating everyone's schedule. No waiting for someone else to be available. No compromising on what you need.

Just you, a beautiful place, a yoga mat, and three nights to breathe.

And if you arrive not knowing anyone? Even better. GetAway Yogis retreats have a funny way of turning strangers into friends very quickly.

You might arrive solo and leave with a group chat.

It happens. 😉

Welcome to Retreat Ranch

Now let's talk about where we're going to spend this beautiful weekend.

If you've never been to Retreat Ranch in Marble Falls, Texas, you're in for a treat.

Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, Retreat Ranch feels like the kind of place where your shoulders drop about five minutes after you arrive.

The property is beautiful without feeling overly polished or precious. There are wide-open views, peaceful outdoor spaces, cozy corners to disappear into, and enough things to do that you can make the weekend as active—or as gloriously lazy—as you want.

Take a walk through the meditation labyrinth.

Spend some time with the horses.

Say hello to the cows.

Watch the chickens do their chicken thing.

Learn about the bees.

Soak in a hot tub.

Try a cold plunge.

Warm up in the wood-burning sauna.

Then do it all again.

And somewhere along the way, you may notice that you haven't checked your phone in three hours.

That's the magic we're looking for.

You don't have to travel across the world to get away.

Sometimes the getaway is right here in Texas.

Your Home Away From Home

Another thing we love about Retreat Ranch?

The accommodations are anything but ordinary.

This isn't a weekend where everyone disappears into identical hotel rooms.

Instead, you get to choose from a collection of unique spaces, each with its own personality and charm. Think cozy cabins, luxury yurts, beautifully restored vintage RVs, stylish covered wagons, and other one-of-a-kind spaces throughout the property.

Whether you're looking for a cozy solo hideaway or want to share a space with your favorite person, there are options to make your weekend feel just right.

And let's be honest—there's something extra fun about telling your friends you spent Valentine's weekend in a vintage RV or a luxury yurt in the Texas Hill Country.

It's a story you'll actually want to tell.

Come Hungry

We have a pretty strong philosophy at GetAway Yogis:

Good yoga is wonderful. Good yoga followed by an incredible meal is even better.

For Deepen the Heart, we'll be joined by our own private chef, Chef Horacio, who comes to us from Argentina.

Chef Horacio understands that food is about so much more than simply putting something on a plate. It's about comfort. Hospitality. Connection. And creating an experience that makes people feel cared for.

Our daily brunches and dinners will be thoughtfully prepared with that same philosophy in mind, with attention to individual dietary needs and preferences whenever possible.

And because Valentine's weekend deserves a little celebration, we'll also gather together for a special wine tasting and food pairing.

So yes, there will be yoga.

But there will also be really good food.

And wine.

We believe in balance.

What Will Our Days Look Like?

We don't want to schedule every second of your retreat.

That's kind of the opposite of why we're doing this.

You'll have two yoga practices each day, along with specialty workshops and opportunities to explore the heart-centered theme of the retreat more deeply.

But there will also be plenty of white space.

Time to sleep in.

Time to read a book.

Time to sit outside with a cup of coffee.

Time to take a nap.

Time to wander around the property.

Time to have a long conversation with someone you just met.

Time to do absolutely nothing.

We want you to have the freedom to listen to what you need each day.

Maybe one afternoon you're the person who says, "Let's go cold plunge!"

And maybe the next afternoon you're the person wrapped in a blanket saying, "I'm not moving for the next three hours."

Both are completely acceptable.

Why a Long Weekend?

We love our international GetAway Yogis adventures. There's something incredible about traveling somewhere completely new, immersing yourself in another culture, and seeing the world through a different lens.

But there's something equally special about a domestic retreat.

You don't need a passport.

You don't need to take a week off work.

You don't need to spend an entire day traveling to get there.

You can simply pack your bag, get in the car, and head toward the Texas Hill Country.

And then, for four days, you get to step away from your normal rhythm.

That's often enough to make a difference.

A long weekend gives you just enough time to disconnect from the constant demands of everyday life and reconnect with the things that tend to get pushed to the bottom of the list.

Rest.

Play.

Nature.

Movement.

Connection.

You.

A Different Kind of Valentine’s Day

Maybe Valentine's Day has always been your favorite holiday.

Maybe you think it's completely overrated.

Maybe you're happily partnered.

Maybe you're happily single.

Maybe you're somewhere in between.

We don't really care.

We think Valentine's weekend can belong to everyone.

Because ultimately, this retreat isn't about romantic love.

It's about love in all its forms.

It's about friendship and community.

It's about taking care of yourself.

It's about remembering that your relationship with yourself deserves attention, too.

It's about being around people who make you laugh.

It's about sitting around a dinner table and realizing you haven't thought about your to-do list all day.

It's about moving your body because it feels good.

It's about getting outside.

It's about letting yourself be cared for.

And maybe, just maybe, it's about opening your heart a little wider.
