Equinox Escape: Yoga & Culture in Bali | September 18–26, 2027
We're going to Bali. 🌿
And not only are we going to Bali...
This will officially be the 10th GetAway Yogis retreat.
Honestly? We're still wrapping our heads around that one.
When Darcy and I first started dreaming up GetAway Yogis, we had a pretty simple idea: create opportunities for people to step away from everyday life, reconnect with themselves, experience beautiful places, and maybe make a few really good friends along the way.
We couldn't have imagined where that little idea would take us.
Costa Rica.
Peru.
Texas.
Mexico.
Tuscany.
So many beautiful retreat centers.
So many yoga classes.
So many shared meals, late-night conversations, belly laughs, tears, adventures, and moments of "How is this actually our life?"
And now we're celebrating our tenth retreat by doing something we've been dreaming about for years.
Bali.

If you've been around GetAway Yogis for a while, you already know that Bali has been one of the most requested destinations in our community.
You've asked.
We've listened.
And now we're finally making it happen.
But here's the thing...
We didn't want to create just another Bali yoga retreat.
If we're going to ask you to travel halfway around the world with us, we want you to experience something that feels completely worth the journey.
Something immersive.
Something beautiful.
Something meaningful.
Something that feels unmistakably GetAway.
And that's exactly what Equinox Escape: Yoga & Culture in Bali is designed to be.
This Is More Than a Bali Yoga Retreat
Let's start with something that might surprise you.
Yes, there will be yoga.
Lots of it, actually.
We'll begin each morning with an intentional yoga and wellness practice before breakfast.
We'll move.
We'll breathe.
We'll meditate.
We'll create space to arrive in our bodies and prepare ourselves for whatever the day brings.
But we're not going to spend our entire day in a yoga studio.
Because we've never really believed that yoga ends when we roll up our mats.
Quite the opposite.
That's when the real practice begins.
Our morning practice will give us the tools to experience the rest of the day differently.
To be present.
To stay curious.
To listen.
To slow down.
To notice.
To meet unfamiliar experiences with openness instead of judgment.
So when we're learning a traditional Balinese dance, we're practicing presence.
When we're making Canang offerings by hand, we're practicing reverence.
When we're cycling through quiet villages and rice fields, we're practicing curiosity.
When we're hiking to a waterfall, we're practicing awareness.
When we're sitting together at sunset, we're practicing gratitude.
And when we're navigating the inevitable little hiccups that happen when traveling halfway around the world?
Well...
We're practicing patience. 😂
This is yoga beyond the mat.
And honestly, that's one of the things we're most excited about.

Two Destinations. Two Completely Different Sides of Bali.
Another reason this retreat is unlike anything we've offered before?
We're not staying in one place.
We're experiencing two different destinations in Bali, each with its own energy, landscape, culture, and rhythm.
Because Bali isn't just one thing.
And we didn't want you to spend all that time and effort getting to Indonesia only to experience one small corner of the island.
🌿 Ubud: Jungle, Culture & Deep Exhale
We'll begin our Bali wellness retreat in Ubud.
Ubud is often associated with Bali's spiritual and cultural heart, and it's easy to understand why once you're there.
Think lush jungle.
Emerald rice terraces.
Ancient temples.
Traditional offerings.
Quiet villages.
Morning mist.
And that feeling of being surrounded by something much bigger than yourself.
Ubud is where we'll land and settle.
It's where we'll give ourselves permission to slow down after our long journey.
And it's where we'll begin exploring Bali through some of the incredible cultural experiences we've planned.
We'll stay at SereS Springs Resort & Spa, a beautiful four-star property surrounded by lush tropical landscapes.
This will be our home base for the first part of the retreat—a place to practice, rest, receive spa treatments, and recharge between adventures.
While we're in Ubud, we'll experience:
✨ Daily morning yoga and wellness practices
✨ An indulgent massage/spa treatment
✨ Canang offering making
✨ A traditional Balinese blessing experience
✨ A cycling tour through the countryside
✨ Traditional farming villages
✨ A guided jungle and waterfall hike
✨ A Balinese dance class
✨ Time to explore Ubud at your own pace
And, of course, plenty of time to sit back and say:
"Okay... this is REALLY Bali."
🌊 Canggu: Ocean, Play & Expansion
Then we'll shift gears.
Because after the jungle comes the ocean.
We'll make our way to Canggu, a vibrant coastal destination where the energy feels completely different.
Ocean air.
Beach walks.
Golden sunsets.
Good food.
A little more movement.
A little more play.
And plenty of opportunities to simply enjoy being somewhere beautiful.
We'll stay at COMO Uma Canggu, a stunning four-star beachfront property that gives us a completely different experience from our time in Ubud.
And we love that.
The first half of the retreat invites us to ground.
The second half invites us to expand.
We'll continue our morning yoga and wellness practices, enjoy another massage treatment, have time to explore Canggu, and visit one of Bali's most iconic cultural landmarks:
Tanah Lot Temple.
We'll arrive in time for sunset, when the temple and surrounding coastline become especially breathtaking.
It's one of those moments we're already imagining ourselves experiencing together.
A group of people who may have arrived as strangers...
Standing together...
Watching the sun disappear over the ocean...
And realizing:
We really made it here.
We Want You to Experience Bali—Not Just Visit It
This was one of the biggest questions we asked ourselves while designing this retreat:
If someone travels halfway around the world with us, what do we want them to remember?
We didn't want the answer to be:
"We saw some cool stuff."
We wanted it to be:
"I experienced Bali."
That's why we've intentionally included cultural experiences throughout the itinerary.
You'll have opportunities to meet local people, learn about Balinese traditions, experience local food, visit villages, explore natural landscapes, and participate in cultural practices.
You'll make traditional offerings.
You'll learn Balinese dance.
You'll visit temples.
You'll experience a traditional blessing.
You'll explore the countryside by bike.
You'll hike through lush landscapes to a waterfall.
You'll have time to wander.
And you'll have time to simply be.
Because meaningful travel isn't always about doing more.
Sometimes it's about being present enough to notice what's already happening around you.

We're Leaving Room to Actually Experience Bali
One thing you may notice when you look at our itinerary is that we're not trying to cram every possible Bali experience into nine days.
That was intentional.
We don't want you coming home from your yoga retreat thinking:
"I need another vacation to recover from that vacation."
Instead, we've built in space.
Space to sleep in.
Space to journal.
Space to sit by the pool.
Space to visit a café.
Space to shop.
Space to explore independently.
Space to have an unexpected conversation with someone in our group.
Space to do absolutely nothing.
Because sometimes nothing is exactly what you need.
Let's Talk About Traveling Halfway Around the World
We're going to be honest.
This is a BIG trip.
It's the farthest we've ever traveled together as a GetAway Yogis community.
And we know that for some of you, that is part of the excitement.
For others?
It might be the part that makes you think:
"Bali sounds amazing... but how the heck do I even get there?"
We hear you.
That's one of the reasons we partnered with Fit4Travel for this experience.
Fit4Travel specializes in supporting wellness and fitness travel experiences around the world, and their team will help our travelers navigate some of the practical pieces of making a trip like this happen.
They'll provide guidance around:
✈️ Recommended flight itineraries
🌍 Travel logistics
📋 Visa information
🧳 Travel planning and preparation
Your international airfare is not included in your retreat cost and will be booked independently, so you'll still have the flexibility to choose your airline, use points or miles, extend your trip, or build additional travel into your plans.
But you won't have to figure out the journey completely on your own.
And that matters to us.
Because our job isn't just to create a beautiful retreat once you arrive.
It's to help you feel supported getting there, too.
We Even Left Some Meals Open on Purpose
Another little difference you'll notice?
We aren't feeding you three structured meals every single day.
You'll always have breakfast together.
Then, depending on the day's activities, either lunch or dinner will be included.
That means you'll have two meals included each day, with the third meal intentionally left open.
Why?
Because food is part of experiencing a place.
Maybe you'll discover an incredible little café in Ubud.
Maybe you'll want fresh seafood near the beach in Canggu.
Maybe you'll want to grab something quick between exploring.
Maybe you won't be hungry at all.
We want you to have the freedom to follow your own curiosity.
You'll find the complete meal schedule on the retreat booking page so you can see exactly what's included each day.
Nine Days to Really Settle In
This is also our longest GetAway Yogis retreat yet.
Nine full days.
And that was very intentional.
After traveling such a long distance, we didn't want to rush through Bali.
We wanted time to acclimate.
Time to explore.
Time to rest.
Time to experience.
Time to connect.
Time to let the destination actually sink in.
We want you to have enough time that Bali starts to feel less like a place you're visiting...
and more like a place you're temporarily living.

So... Who Is This Retreat For?
Honestly?
You.
Whether you've traveled with us before or this would be your very first GetAway.
Whether you've been to Bali five times or have never left the country.
Whether you're coming solo, with a partner, or with a friend.
Whether you're an experienced yogi or simply someone who loves the idea of beginning each day with intentional movement.
You don't have to be a certain kind of traveler to belong here.
You just need a little curiosity.
A willingness to experience something new.
And maybe a tiny bit of adventurous spirit.
We'll take care of the rest.
Our 10th Retreat Feels Like the Perfect Reason to Dream Big
When we realized Bali would be our tenth retreat, it felt like the universe had handed us a pretty perfect opportunity.
Ten retreats.
Ten adventures.
Ten reminders of why we started GetAway Yogis in the first place.
And what better way to celebrate than by going somewhere we've dreamed about for years?
We don't know exactly what our tenth retreat will mean to each person who joins us.
Maybe it'll be the trip you've been waiting years to take.
Maybe it'll be the first time you've traveled alone.
Maybe it'll be the place where you make a lifelong friend.
Maybe it'll simply be nine days where you finally slow down enough to hear yourself think.
Maybe you'll return home with a completely different perspective.
Or maybe you'll just have the most incredible time.
All of those are good reasons to go.
We Don't Want You to Just Check Bali Off Your Bucket List
This is the biggest thing.
We don't want you to fly halfway around the world just to say:
"I've been to Bali."
We want you to be able to say:
"I experienced Bali."
I experienced its beauty.
Its traditions.
Its people.
Its landscapes.
Its food.
Its spirituality.
Its rhythm.
I practiced yoga there.
I laughed there.
I rested there.
I stepped outside my comfort zone there.
I met people there who changed me.
I saw something that made me stop and breathe.
I came home with stories.
Because that's what we believe travel can do.
It can make our world bigger.
It can make our hearts softer.
It can remind us that there are a million different ways to live, love, connect, rest, celebrate, worship, create, and simply be.
And sometimes, stepping away from everything familiar is exactly what we need to see our own lives a little more clearly.
That's the GetAway.
That's the practice.
And that's why Equinox Escape: Yoga & Culture in Bali feels like no other retreat we've created before.
